My Life Has Been Changed By These Two Children!

Sunday, March 21, 2010

Hello Spark Friends! I have missed you all so much! One of our computers had the wireless internet card go out and we really don't want to put any more money into the computer as it is so old. So we have 2 computers for 4 people to use... to say the least with DH looking for work and trying to set up some websites he can show employers examples of his work and my daughter's online college classes and regular classwork I have had to share my laptop and I just haven't had it to use, and if it was available I was so exhausted from the kids and helping my dad that I was just too tired and went to bed so I could keep up my sleep. This week my daughter is on spring break in Louisiana and my son is off for his spring break, so we will see how much I get to have access to it this week. But when my daughter gets back it will be a tug of war with my laptop again. So please be patient with me, we are looking for something used or hoping that my daughter will get enough "cash" gifts for her graduation that she can buy herself a computer.

Well to say the least my life has been changed by these two beautiful children that I am watching. It requires me to be more physically active and I have my own 25 pound weight (the 9 month old Jackson)... I have had all kinds of soreness in my legs, arms, back and shoulders from just taking care of Jackson and Cicely.

To top it off, last week my dad came down twice for a couple of days to help get my planting tables made up... so now I have 4 of them, 5 ft wide by 3 ft deep. The lettuce Cicely and I planted 2 weeks ago is looking good and I can't wait until we can plant it. My dad also helped take care of some other little projects around that house so that makes me very happy!

We have snow right now, it started yesterday and we got about 10 inches and a lot of sleet all night long. Hopefully that will be the last snow of the season and the weatherman says that we should see temps in the 50's & 60's this coming week... I hope so!

I went to the doctor for my physical and got my blood work results and they are all in the normal range except for the triglycerides so the doctor wants me to start taking 500 mg of Niacin a day to try to get it down. He was really happy with my weight loss and was very encouraging.

I hate to run but I've got lots to do to get caught up... love and hugs to all of you!

Sandra

So happy to hear from you. Be careful with the niacin. Get a second opinion. My chiropractor told me to get off it and I was on the non flushing type.

What about red rice yeast? Ask about that.

more as time allows.

hugs,

Hi there stranger. I've been a bit MIA myself. It's ok, because sometimes life gets in the way, or the computer goes caput, but what matters is that we come back to say hi when ever we can. Thanks for being such a great inspiration to me.

I came to your page to read more about you after finding an email in my box listing you as an inspirational Sparker (or maybe it was motivational??) and found your blogs to be so delightful!

I did notice that you hadn't posted another more recent one and I know it is probably due to plain old 'busyness'. Either that or your daughter is back and your computer has been commandeered by others!

Really, I sat down because I was exhausted from running around all day and thought I need to check on my email. Instead, I ended up here on SP (isn't it wonderful?) and am even more exhausted from reading about your chasing after two wee ones!

I'm almost hoping I don't become a grandmother for a long time since I couldn't keep up with chasing them around all day. I STILL remember when I did babysitting at home while my own kids were young. It don't remember being that tired doing it but NOW....just thinking back to those days has me reeling!

Take care of yourself and enjoy this wonderful Easter weekend!

Welcome back, even if it's just for a short visit! I am jealous of your planting tables. I've always wanted one. I'm in AZ and our stuff is all in the ground already. We even committed to asparagus and will patiently await it's 2 year growth. Tomatoes, brussel sprouts, yellow bell peppers, blueberries, raspberies, strawberries, zucchini. All in. Too late for lettuce!

Good luck with the garden and computer issues. We'll see you next time!

Hopefully the doctor told you to watch for "flushing"...your skin will feel like it is on fire and itches like crazy. The pharmacist told me to take a baby aspirin 20 minutes before taking the niacin...that worked for me for about a year and a half. They took me off the baby aspirin when I had surgery last year...yep the flushing started. You will know if it happens. Doesn't happen with everyone, but you might ask the doctor or nurse about it and what they want YOU to do. (They took me off the niacin because of the flushing.) Of course, now my triglycerides are a little too high but manageable with watching what I eat.
Best of luck to you. Enjoy your spring and the kids!!! Glad you are able to keep up with them.
Blessings and hugs,
Helen

Sorry you got more snow! Great on the physical. I did not know that niacin could have a good effect on triglycerides. Interesting...
