weigh in -week 9

Can't believe I've been doing this for 9 weeks...Made alot of friends which I'm so thankful for. I'm learning something new everyday about exercise or nutrition. I love the motivational stories, too.
I've been working hard at this. This week I stayed the same. In 4 weeks I've lost 1 pound! It's a hard pill to swallow because the weight is coming off so slow now yet I still have 14 pounds to lose! Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm following Weight Watchers points ....I exercise everyday..walk 5 miles...walk/run 3-4x a week...60-75 jumping jacks everyday....strength training 3x a week.

    Try increasing your calcium intake - I track that as well with Sparkpeople. I find that when I get my recommended calcium from food rather than from supplements, I lose more quickly. Also, check your tracker to make sure you aren't getting more than 10 percent of your points from sugar and processed foods.

    I hope you're not doing SP just for weight loss...and I don't think you are...this is a lifestyle change to a healthier you! You are doing all the right things and the changes are happening, you know they are...don't give up on yourself! I know it's not easy...none of it's been easy, but we can get through it and make it a positive part of our lives! You're doing an AMAZING JOB!Hang in there!!

    I can understand your feelings. I'm about 10 pounds from goal and all I get anymore is depressed. I get on the scales thinking this is the week....nope, ok maybe next week. I'm going to try a bit more cardio this week. for me i'm eating but I don't think i'm getting in the cardio I should. good luck to you and keep up the great work, you will see the results, don't give in.

    Make sure you are eating enough to support all of the exercise you are doing.

    If you are eating 1200 calories & exercising off 400, your body will go into starvation mode & you will not lose.

    My weight watcher's leader used to tell us, "you need to eat to lose, not starve to lose".

    Make sure you put your measurements in on the page where you weigh in. It helps put your situation into perspective. YOU CAN LOSE INCHES AND NOT WEIGHT! Inches are more important than weight. If you are losing inches, eventually the scale is going to change. Also mix up your workouts more. Try lifting weights. You won't bulk up. You can use 3 and 5 pound weights very effectively. The Firm has a workout kit that gives you 5 videos a plan book and weights for about $40. You find it in the as seen on t.v. isles. I lost 2 dress sizes in 1 month. Now I didn't say xxx pounds. Because that wasn't dramatic. But 2 dress sizes is great. I felt much sexier! Have fun and hang in there!

    Happy Saturday!! Isn't it amazing how fast 9 weeks can go!?!? Don't be discouraged. You are working hard....very hard it sounds like. Your body is changing, getting some more muscle. So don't be discouraged by the lack of weight loss. Have you noticed clothes becoming looser? That can be a good sign to have to offset the slow down in the weight loss. Are you drinking plenty of water? Helps the entire body! When you have a lot of weight to lose (like me), the first pounds are the easiest and then they gradually get harder to lose as it takes more work, more of every thing. You are getting down near your goal weight and it just gets tougher! So just keep working hard, stay encouraged....and you will soon see the weight again move downward.
