New Job + Stress

Saturday, March 20, 2010

So last month I got a job...which is super exciting! However, it was almost immediately decided that I needed to work 12 hours a day 7 days a week. Making my work/life balance really hard to maintain. I can tell you that did not work out much (but tried), and ate out twice as much. Resulting in me feeling like I was not in control of the direction of my life. The only solution that I could see was telling my boss that I'm working reasonable hours (8). Making time for me and my life. Making me much happier and life much easier.

Congratulations of making the right decision. 12 hours a day every day is way too much to leave time for the rest of your life.

Hope things improve.

all work and no play is NOT healthy...hope it works out for you...It's challenging just working 40 hours having 2 kids and trying to keep up with their sports ect... and fit in excercising... I find I have to "book" it...which means I decide in advance what I'm doing the next day ... specifically and at what time and do my darndest to stick to that.... about 90% of the time.... good luck emoticon
