Yesterday's Dr visit....

Lots of stuff going on....

1. He changed my antidepressant to one I asked for...yay! This one most people don't have a weight gain with or changed libido. I had a problem losing weight on the other one and no sex drive.

2. My headaches seem to be caused mostly by TMJ. I seriously never realized that not everyone's jaw locked like mine does or makes clicking sounds. I've been actively relaxing my jaw and not clenching my teeth which I realized I do a lot. Since I've been doing this, my headaches are lessened quite a bit. He thinks I might need surgery in the future because I can't open my mouth without my jaw clicking and locking.

3. My thyroid (TSH and T4) levels are not right. I had an MRI not long ago to find out why I have frequent headaches and it showed my pituitary gland is damaged and what the Dr described as "half empty" My thyroid levels being off and a damaged pituitary point to a thyroid disorder called Central Hypothyroidism. There's nothing they can do at this point except watch my levels until I need medication. But he was able to confirm I have a thyroid disorder and it feels good to finally have a reason for feeling the way I do (at least with those symptoms and my weight)

UGH TMJ, been there done that, still living with it lol. A good thing to do is stick your tongue to the roof of your mouth, driving is my biggest problem, my TMJ is caused from a car accident (rear ended on a bridge-bridges still cause me problems lol). You absolutely cannot clench this way - sometimes you think your relaxed and your not even. Just a bit of advice from a fellow TMJer. Glad you got your anti's changed and glad you have a clue to your thyroid now, it is a problem for alot of people good luck with it all.
