Trying to Keep Moving...!

Over the past several days I've had this insidious creeping ENT crud getting just a bit worse each day, nagging cough, runny nose and off & on ears acting up. I remembered my ENT doc's advice to spritz some white vinegar in the ears to keep them clear, which appears to be working, but the N & T keep pestering me. Have been feeling blah & run down so some days have blown off working out.

Today, I thought I'd try the opposite: maybe if I get myself MOVING I can rev up my circulation to just blow this crud out of my system...?

So...nailed treadmill this a.m. for 35 mins., got out for a walk & talk with a client for 45 mins. and later this evening did some Nordic walking into our local downtown 30 mins. each way.

It all felt great at the time...especially being out in the glorious sunshine which ALWAYS feels like a cure-all for ANYTHING to me... :-)

But here I am tonight hacking, coughing and sneezing away...yuck! Want to clear this up so I can get out on my bike this weekend...! And the weather is SO BEAUTIFUL, just going to HAVE to keep getting outside for my sunshine fix!

    As you say to me, RATS! Allergies maybe?? As always plenty of fluids to help wash the junk out. I hope whatever the gunk is is moves through soon so you can get back to enjoying Springtime. A few others have mentioned rest - not just blowing off workouts, but rest from everything. 24 hrs under the covers can do wonders emoticon for the psyche.

    Just 48 hours until the weekend emoticon I hope you're back on your feet by then!!

    I had a similar thing happen to me right after buying my recumbent bike. I got Bronchitis and I knew I needed to exercise to get results with SP. So I forced myself to ride the bike or walk at lunch and I would cough a lot while doing both. This is the first week I haven't had those coughing attacks. My lungs are still not up to par, but much better.

    I figured you be out there in the evenings riding. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

    Have you ever tried a neti pot? Works great for my N problems before the develop into E&T problems.

    Sorry you aren't feeling very good. I have one of those colds too. Ugh. I made myself do my run last night too. I am still coughing but I do feel a little less congested. Hope you get to feeling much better soon.

    I really hope you get over it soon!! I'm fighting that myself right now!! Some days it is just so hard to push through it when your body is revolting against you!! Hang in there and don't push too hard!

    I'm having sinus surgery in April, so I can sympathize. My rule of thumb is exercise if I don't have a fever, but I keep it less intense. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate and go to bed early!!

    I've done the garlic with honey on a spoon..works AWESOME... and if you don't have a Neti Pot.. get one.. helps keeps the sinuses rinsed out.. i totally swear by them shortening the cold.. and sounds like you're on day 3-5 of the cold.. it's all uphill from there! But i do feel your pain.. had the same issue this past weekend.. and even though it was raining some.. i got out and walked(when it wasn't) and it really did help .. Hope you feel better soon!

    Aw, man. Spring colds stinks. I know a few people that swear by Zicam. If you prefer all natural stuff...honey for the throat (I like it stirred into hot water with a splash of lemon) and garlic. Take a clove, chop it up into 5-6 pieces and swallow the pieces like a pill. Do this 2x/day. Sounds crazy, but it works. You can take them together if you dare (A spoonful of honey with a clove of garlic.)
