Made it to the gym early this morning and got in my 48 minutes on the elliptical and about 20 min of strength training. I knew I was going out rollerblading this afternoon so I didn't push it.
Took the boys to the mall this morning and went to the shoe store to pick up a pair of shoes I had my eye on for Easter Sunday... They didn't have my size any more! Grrrr.... Oh well, I went to another store and found something better! They are open toe, dress shoes that I think will look perfect with my black slacks (and pedicure, lol)... and will look good with a dress too! And there is probably a 2 inch chunky heel on them. I have never in my life worn heels, but these looked so good and felt so comfortable. I felt so feminine wearing them! I am not used to that!!!
I ate my packed lunch and took older son to his tennis lesson and the younger son and I went rollerblading. He was so sweet... he kept encouraging me and telling me it is better to go slow and stay in control than to go fast and fall. He would skate backwards and talk to me. He would warn of cracks in the sidewalk or rocks that were on the trail. Love him!!! I realized I did not have a problem cardio-wise or leg strength-wise... My issue is the fact that I am just not comfortable yet on my rollerblades. I am still scared of falling. And as long as there was a nice, even paved trail I did fine. But I did spend some time inching my way down "hills".... We were out for about 50 minutes and my GWF said I burned about 260 calories. Not bad!!! I know the more I get out there and do it the more confident I'll get. I am loving it, though!
Kind of a pointless blog, lol... Just felt like I 'had' to do it before I went to bed... Good Night!
