Walking lunges, standing crunches and trying to stop forgetting lunches...

Monday, March 15, 2010

Went to aerobics again this morning. Such a great workout! Today was taught by Gina. I love Gina's classes. She is very fitness focused and enjoys adding in moves that are more current, especially during floor work. She doesn't limit us to the old standards like regular old crunches. Plus she really pushes us. I wouldn't call her class a boot camp but she definately expects us to put forth some effort!! The aerobics section of class was your standard-kicks, marching, grapevines up the wazoo, etc. But then, before we could quit it was across the gym (standard basketball court-short ways) in walking lunges and then return adding a reverse leg lift on each step. By the time we got back I had jelly legs!! Awesome jelly legs-that means my legs got a great workout, but we weren't done yet. On to more leg exercises and then standing abs work. The abs work was actually fun and I really felt it on my sides!! All the way around it was an awesome workout!!

I forgot lunch again. I am going to blame my 3 year old. She has a hard time following the schedule the rest of us follow. Probably because she is so picky. Lots of nights she nibbles dinner and probably is still a little hungry when she goes to bed. Then in the morning she is famished. She'll eat breakfast like everyone else and then still be hungry half an hour later. I try to make her wait until closer to snack or lunch time, but she acts truly hungry so I give her a sandwich, then when it is lunch time she isn't hungry. We'll have a snack at lunch time and then she is hungry again just before dinner time and I can get her to wait until dinner is ready. I've got to work on getting our eating times down to a regular schedule, both of us are suffering from this lack of organization when it comes to eating!! Also, it won't be long before school is out for the summer and I'll have three kids with three different ideas of what and when to eat. Time to get it under control now before it turns into a major deal!!

So, overall a very good day today!! Now to try and get the kiddies off to bed at a decent time. They think because it is still light outside they don't have to go to bed!! WRONG!! I still need my quiet time!! Hope everyone had a great Monday!!

My kids have always had trouble with the time change. I do, too! Sounds like you're getting a great workout though.

Morning jelly legs- sounds like a fantastic workout!
I'm sure your little one will come around to your eating time eventually- how about fruit in between meals.......something really small to tide her over???
Just a thought.
Glad you had such a great day! emoticon

My son got confused by the time change too. Last night I put him to bed and he kept telling me to turn the lights off (and they were off but since it was still light outside his room was lighter than usual). Luckily tonight was a little easier!!
