Finally some progress

Sunday, March 14, 2010

I didn't think this would be a good week, but it turned out I did lose over 3 pounds from last week. I did write down most everything I ate and did better, but still have a long ways to go. Still have those cravings for salt and chips. Luckily I didn't buy any for home and only have the small bags at work. All I can do is take it a day at a time and continue to change my behaviors and habits.

Still not that much motivation and am struggling to get motivated to exercise. The battle continues....

I just have to figure out how to use this darn website. I can't seem to easily find the parts of it that I want. Will just have to keep on trying.

In May 08 DD said, "Popie, Gramie and I have been worried about you, and I think 'Little Bug' needs to have you around for a while..."

(Little Bug is my 4th grandson Aden.)

That innocent little snipit of conversation was the snowball that started an avalanche of change.

The right motivation has made the rest easy.

Hope you find something that supports the change you want.

Remember, it is nothing big or grand, just a little change in direction and through time it leads to a very different destination. In fact, just doing what you did this week will move you where you want to go over time.

Great week! Yeah, the website isn't very "intuitive" ... then again, it's HUGE so it would probably be fairly tough to make it better. No sweat though, you'll be able to remember more as time goes on.

I didn't do any "exercise" for the first year but I was still able to lose weight by using the nutrition tracker to plan out my meals and stay in my calorie range. Good luck to you!!

You are doing great and should be really proud of yourself! I also have to work through salt cravings, so I can relate. Once a week, I splurge and eat one ounce of my favorite chips with lunch. It's been tough because I was eating them every day, but it's worked so far and feels like a reward. It is hard to start exercising if you haven't for a long time, but I've found that once I pushed myself to begin, I would do more than I had intended for that day. It really feels good to notice that parts of your body are changing for the better.

You have made really good progress for such a short time. Hang in there. You can do this!
