This morning I went into the Spark Recipes and under "just added" I saw a recipe for a homemade version of condensed cream of... soup. I wanted to try it but before I printed the recipe, I left a comment. Oops! after my comment was accepted, and I was trying to go back to the recipe, my computer hicuped and I ended somewhere else completely and lost the recipe. I tried for the longest time to find it but as I don't know the exact name or the full ingredients, I simply cannot find it. uuurgh!
I am going into the third week with this sore throat and it is KILLING me. It got to the point where I couldn't swallow anything and it really hurt just to swallow water. I went to the medi-centre on Tuesday and the doc gave me some anti-biotics - 6 pills and I was to take 2 that same day, then 1 a day for 5 days. She also gave me some cough syrup with codeine to help me sleep through the night without waking up coughing every 10 to 20 minutes! Well today was the last of the pills, and I do have to admit the the left side of my throat does feel somewhat better, but the right is still very painful and still hurts to swallow.
I went back to the medi centre today and the doc today said I had been given a very strong anti-biotic that stays in the system for 10 days and I just had to give it time for it to do it's work. Told me to wait until next week and if I wasn't any better, then go back again.......
In the meantime, I am taking some Aloe juice, which is 99 percent pure Aloe. My sister gave it to me to try. Her brother in law swears by it and has been taking it for over 20 years. He said that as long as he took it, he never got sick but if he stopped taking it, then he did get sick. So Sis decided to try it. I had tried Aloe juice many years ago, but I hated the taste and If I can't stand the taste or smell of something, no amount of forcing will get it past my lips. But this stuff is virtually tasteless. I have been putting in apple juice and I can't smell or taste it so no problems with me drinking it.
Work is still hectic but with the early "break-up" we will be going into our off season very soon. Too bad. We could have used another month of cold winter to lengthen our season - not that I want it cold here in the city - oh no, no, no. I think winter, and snow should stay in the mountains and countryside and on the hay fields where it is needed and does some good. But not here! Definitely not! But the one good thing about the slow down is that I might be able to take a day or two off and stay home and rest. What a treat that will be...
Well that's it for now. I'm off to try to get some sleep. Have a good evening all.
