Getting Close To Train The Trainer Time.....

Saturday, March 13, 2010

I am getting close to one of my (mini) goal weights and my trainer reminded me that it is getting close to our agreed "train the trainer" time. Our agreement was that is that when i get to my mini goal, that she would allow me to train her which is a real priviledge because she doesnt normally do that... I guess I'm special :)

I am really looking forward to my time at the health camp. For those just tuning in, I was asked last week to speak at a weight loss seminar for overweight kids and their parents. I was really touched by this, that the trainers at the wellness center would have that much confidence in me that they would make me their first choice. I was very overweight when I was growing up and suffered emotionally because of it. Now, it is my chance to give someone hope and let them know that it can be done, that they can love and believe in themselves. That they are worth something despite what some loser at school says.

Everyone wants to be loved and feel a sense of belonging but never at anytime should we allow others to determine who we are and what we become.

Such an honour to be able to speak to the group at health camp. Congrats on your mini goal, and the chance to train your trainer. Any ideas of what you are going to do?

Awesome news about you being invited to speak. Kids and parents need to know about positive life. Not just being healthy in weight (body), but in being healthy in mind. Keeping a positive attitude and being proactive and not reactive. I think you will make a great speaker being able to speak to them and more importantly show them.

It is wonderful that you get to give the gift of health back, hopefully to young people who may hear your message of sharing, rather than as admonition (which was how the messaging was given to me as an adolescent).

Congratulations on being deemed worthy of training the trainer!

That is so cool that you were asked to speak and that you are reaching a mini goal!!! It's an awesome feeling when you can give back to the community.

P.S. Kick your trainers butt!!! emoticon
