Lemonizing my life

Friday, March 12, 2010

Are lemons are part of your diet?

I go through phases. A couple months ago I was using lemons almost daily. I noticed recently I haven't bought lemons at all.

This morning I was watching "Eat, Shrink and Be Merry" and they were doing a remake of a chicken caesar salad recipe.
I'm making it tonight.
They started talking about adding lemons to the recipe and mentioning how if you include lemons in your diet it will help with weight loss because of the acidity and alkalinity of your blood. It affects how your body responds to letting go some of the fat that your body thinks it needs.

I thought this was pretty interesting and I wanted to know more so I googled it.
I came up with a couple of sites that go into more detail and I was wondering if anyone has heard about specific studies or any other helpful tips.

Here's to weight loss!

Love Lemons too ! Ran across your blog from the Petite Group. I'm 5'3". I found that very interesting too - - that Acidic foods turn alkaline in the body. The rule of thumb is that "Raw foods turn alkaline and Dead foods (cheese, meats...) turn acidic."

I have heard a lot of health experts say that you should start your day with a hot cup of teas with fresh lemon juice in it. It is supposed to really get your metab up and going and burning. I will add that to my morning ritual starting tomorrow!!!

    Something interesting I learned,
"Foods such as orange juice and lemon juice are acidic in their natural state but turn alkaline after they have been metabolized in the body."

I always have lemons in my water because the acid helps with digestion. Makes it taste better, too. ^_^
