Stressful Eating

I just gained two pounds and I am not happy about it... My son moved back into our house temporarily and brought a mountain of laundry with him. Messes make me want to eat. I have some pretty big work deadlines coming up. Looming responsibilities make me want to eat. I need to turn this thing around before it gets out of hand. Something another sparkperson wrote helps. She said the journey of a thousand miles starts with one step. So, today I will plan out my menu and go to my pilates class and do what works just for today. Hopefully those two pounds will go away soon, ouch.

    Hi! Welcome to the club. I have been looking at the other bloggers' comments and there's not more to say except: HANG IN THERE!!! It happens to everyone. This is one of the most disheartening things that can happen.

It happened to me two weeks ago and last week I lost 2.2 pounds. This is how we all got into this predicament and learning to reverse it is a long-term project. You are on your way, eating healthier, exercising and doing all the right things. Just keep going...

    Hang in there! I think many of us can relate to your situation with the stress eating. For me eating food can be a comfort, celebration, something to do when I'm bored, etc. Being mindful about what/when I eat is a daily challenge.

You've got the right mindset - one day at a time, one meal at a time, you WILL succeed!

    Stress even without eating can also lead to putting on weight.
When you stressed go out for a walk and admire Gods handiwork then when you come back go to the nearest tree and hang your troubles on it so that you got nothing when you go inside. When you come out again I guarantee that you won't be able to find half of what you left there. So keep on smiling it brings out the dimples and hides the wrinkles. Have a nice day.     I hear you. I pig out during times of stress, too. Many times, I overcome those urges with exercise or doing something that will keep me away from food.
Those two pounds will be history if you just take it one day at a time.
