When it comes to Gardening I am Cheap! I don't want to have to spend 5-10 bucks on a single Seedling when you can grow plenty of your own easily indoors. I do my best to avoid buying seeds and save a few from the previous year to use towards this years crop. Once in a blue moon i will buy seeds if its something new i want to try, but is it just me or the price of seeds have gone up significantly ($2.50-3.00) for like 15 seeds. That's just ridiculous & absurd.

I'm not exactly sure what zone I'm in (but from what i can tell I'm either Zone 5 or 6). It doesn't matter to me that much as I've grown seedlings real early like January and have had successful crops. But most folks here in MA, start around late March/Early April so the plants are ready to go outdoors around May when the nighttime temperatures are around 50 degrees F. I don't buy any fancy Seed start mixtures or any seed starter gadgets. Anyone who wants to see my previous gardens can check the link below.

I'm trying to keep our garden simple this year, since Mamma Lea will most likely be supervising me.

I wish I had your energy and motivation. Your porch tomatoes from years past have been out of this world. And I love the creative containers you use.

Awesome! I am with you, I save seeds when I can and buy some too. I can't start anything for a few weeks because we will be going on vacation and won't be here to care for them. You sure got me excited about it though!
