I have been completely slacking on making new meals. I keep meaning to experiment, but then I end up just craving things I eat all the time.
Exhibit A :
Exhibit B :
Things that I know taste fantastic and are filling. And after I've had so many food fails lately, I haven't been as motivated to try anything else.
Food Fail 1 :
Peach Banana Smoothie
The texture was all wrong here. I have figured out a grape smoothie I love, a strawberry smoothie I love, so I wanted to try another fruit! I love peaches, so I bought some frozen ones. But the smoothie turned out...frothy? maybe that's the best way to describe it. It was not smooth and creamy, it had a really gooey consistency that was just weird.
Food Fail 2 :
Banana with Peanut Butter on Ezekiel bread
Tasted FANTASTIC, so what's the fail? This was not filling at all! I was satisfied for maybe...an hour? I actually have no idea why, because the whole wheat bread is filling, peanut butter is filling, and bananas are usually filling. But this meal just didn't satisfy me!
Food Fail 3 :
I know...it's GREEN!! Why? Because I am silly and totally did not think it through. It still tastes good, very yummy. But instead of stirring it, I blended all of the ingredients to see if I could achieve a better consistency. I totally didn't think about the fact that blending the green onion, chives, and yogurt would make it green! Umm...duh!
Doesn't seem like a huge deal, but I could never get on the bandwagon of purple ketchup, and other seriously wacky things food companies have come up with even though they would taste the same. I'm having it with dinner tonight, so I'll see if the dressing works!
But anyway, I seriously enjoy trying new things so I have been sifting through some new recipes and foods to try. I will be trying them! I just need to get some more motivation!
Good news on the fitness front : I have been getting super consistent with my workouts!! Although, I basically did nothing yesterday, I have been doing something active every day. And I have been doing some strength training every day. Upper body one day, lower body the next!
Not that this picture my husband took shows that.
LOL Gotta love my DVR. No matter how dorky I look while going through the guide to record what I want.
Tomorrow I am getting my body fat and my metabolism measured, so I'll have to let you all know how that goes! Hope everyone is having a great day!
Edited to add : Hey! So if you have any yummy recipes you've tried recently, let me know!
