One meal a day diet!

Thursday, February 25, 2010

Well I have heard many talk about this..including some celebrities..

It seems and sounds really good but is it really good?

I mean in terms of metabolism and all..

The black widow (competitive eater) actually swears upon only eating one big meal a day to maintain her trim figure..

Of course some female celebrities swear upon this diet as well..

I'm not too sure about it but..it sounds pretty achievable since you can eat everything but just in that one meal so no snacks no nothing throughout..

I read or heard some place that the body can only use about 400 calories at a time. If that is true you would be starving yourself. I don't like to be hungry so it would not work for me. I like balanced meals spread throughout the day.

There are many diets that tout magnificent results. All diets are actually for is for manipulation of the bodies function. They always require some jumping through hoops. For what?

Best thing is to have a balanced eating program consisting of whole foods. Exercise moderately, drink your plain water.

If you are looking for a diet, there are plenty of choices. If you are looking for something you can do for health that is sensible, go back to my recommendation.

I believe it is not the number of meals that is important, but the amount of total calories less calories burned that makes me loose. Every day I achieve the goal of eating in my range, I succeed. Every day I do my 10,000 steps, I succeed.
I have only lost 24 pounds. But I have gone down two sizes from a 20W to a 16W.
I just have found that Spark and it's philosophy is better than what some star might use as the latest "they get rich" fad.

Please think about this before you do it .The more food you put in your stomach at one time the bigger it stretches it.
Think of your stomach like a ballon the more air you put in the bigger it becomes.I wish you the best . Good luck . emoticon emoticon

If you were a dieabetic it would not be good, my DH is type II. To maintain a good blood sugar level you need to feed your body 4-6 small meals a day. I'd like to know who comes up with these kind of ideas, I'd think it would not be good for your body, but like others said, look into it and really check it out. There is always some new gimmick out there and over a long period of time they're not things you can stick with for the rest of your life.

Hugs,
Shirl

If you're still eating the same amount of calories in one meal as in 3, 4, or 5, what would be the difference?

The black widow (the pool shark?) has probably never had an overweight day in her life to begin with...

Will you do this for a life style change or just to get the weight off? Good luck!!

That is not good!! Think about it. You need to maintain your energy all day. Eating frequently actually boosts your metabolism. Also imagine all that food crammed into your belly. It will stretch you stomach over time. If you really want to look into it. I would do one week eating 4 meals p/day, next week 5/day, and of course one week 1 p/day. Do some research on here and the net as well. Get on the boards and ask questions about this. Good luck!
