Having To VS. Wanting To

It's so hard when I have to, and so easy when I want to. ~ Annie Gottlier

I found this quote this morning & thought... "How true is that!?!"

If you've read my blog from yesterday, then you know that I've sort of "let myself go" over the past month & as a result of that, I've gained back 10lbs! Yesterday, I was so disappointed in myself and was really DETERMINED to get this under control (once again).

I DID do 30 minutes on the treadmill yesterday & got in my core exercises... so I felt really good about that. Yesterday's goal, however, was to do both the treadmill and the wii fit. But, I pat myself on the back anyways, because I accomplished more yesterday than I had in a whole month! (Trying to see the positive side to things.)

Today, I'm really motivated to get going! I feel like I'm READY to get my life back on track & tackle this weight problem once and for all! Wanting to take care of this makes me feel so much better... rather than feeling like I have to!

I think if we make things LESS of a chore (so to speak), then we'll be able to stick with a program longer... if not indefinitely. Somewhere along the way... my exercises and proper nutrition became a chore, rather than something I enjoyed and looked forward to.

So... I'm trying to look forward and have a positive attitude... I'm trying to be determined & responsible for my own actions. I'm trying to make this work & actually looking forward to it! I KNOW this works, as I've done it... I just have to have FUN doing it!

So, if you are feeling like you HAVE to do this (maintain a certain exercise routine; etc.).... then maybe you should take a minute to reflect on WHAT made you WANT to start this journey to begin with... MIX IT UP & HAVE FUN WITH IT... and the WANT will resurface!

I wish you all the BEST of LUCK! I encourage you to find yourself in the madness of it all... maintain a healthy lifestyle & KEEP having FUN with it!! YOU WANTED to make the change... KEEP that WANT in your daily routine of things and be successful in all you do!

Today... I WANT to make a change! Today.... I WANT to achieve my goals & be successful! (I WANT that for you too!!)

Great blog!!! It is so true. I love the attitude change in you- even though you didn't do all the exercise you had planned, you were pleased with yourself that you did more exercise than before- good for you!!!! It is all about progress and you sound that, after the bump in the road you experienced, you are on your way again!!!!
