It's Peanut Butter and Jelly Time!

Tuesday, February 23, 2010

So today for lunch I ate a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I haven't eaten it like this in a LONG time. I love the flavor combination, but it has never been filling to me. But today, I decided to give it a try again.

I used all-natural, organic peanut butter and jelly and put them on Ezekiel bread.

I topped off the jam with some strawberries. Our strawberries were actually kind of scary, because they were HUGE. I wish I could have bought some organic ones, but that's all the store had!

With it I had a few FSTG chips, multigrain flavor.

Tasted great, but I was only satisfied for almost two hours. That is just not long enough for me, I prefer meals to last about three-four hours, depending on what I have to do that day. I especially wasn't impressed since the meal was very high calorie for me.

I still love the flavor combination, so I think I'm going to just stick to it on oatmeal. Because the combination of greek yogurt, whole strawberries, and oatmeal made with banana topped with jam and peanut butter (whew, took a breath in the middle of typing it all!) is truly satisfying and SOOO yummy!

Yup, I'm definitely having that again.

Has anyone else eaten anything lately that just didn't satisfy them? About how long do you go in between meals?

I really wanted to eat that huge strawberry. Probably the biggest one I have ever seen.

Yum yum, if you like this stuff you might like cashew butter and sunflower butter. Also for a very filling breakfast I like steel cut oats!! Thank you for the great ideas! I will be trying some of these things!

I eat PB&J almost every day for lunch. But you're right that it doesn't stick 3-4 hours. But, I don't necessarily want it to stick that long. I subscribe to the eating every 2 hours philosophy. I also eat oatmeal for breakfast almost every morning! Oatmeal, coffee, banana, and almonds. Delicious!
