Well I was up with the sun this morning! I feel refreshed and amazing after all my sleep last night! Why so much sleep? Because of C25K!
Yep last night I plugged in my iPod and did day one of C25k. I learned a lot from doing that first session. Mostly I learned that I need to really get to work on cardio. I wasn't even going all that fast and started to huff and puff, however as the time went on I actually felt stronger in the running section, my breathing sort of fell into place and I got into my stride. It was tough but I did it! Afterward I hit the shower because I was drenched! Then the evening was spent being restful until 9pm when I couldn't keep my eyes open and headed off to bed.
It was really great to feel a workout like that again. I felt like Shred wasn't quite giving me the challenge that I needed for cardio. Yes Jumping Jacks suck, but I'm good enough at them now that I'm not pushing myself. Running at intervals however...well let's just say that my body was freaking out. Plus I did it right after work, which is normally a dangerous time for me. It's usually when I binge but last night I didn't give myself time to think about food. It was home and then into workout gear and then on the treadmill! By the time I was done I was so tired I didn't want anything until dinner. It was awesome.
This morning I was still a little sore so I thought I'd get in some Yoga. I have the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders Yoga DVD via Netflix and I thought I would give it a go. You have two options, one 25 minute routine and one 45 minute routine. Well I'm new to Yoga so I did the 25 minute and let me tell you I really liked it! My muscles felt so good afterward and my neck feels amazing. I have real issues with tension in my neck and shoulders since I work at a computer all day and my desk chair is crap. I'm hunched a lot and while I try to remind myself to sit up I still hunch over. The Yoga was very relaxing and refreshing and made my legs feel ten times better. I'll still need to get in some other activity today to keep my calorie burn up but for the morning it just felt great to stretch and release tension. Oh and the DVD is good too. The guy is a little tiresome but not as much as some yoga instructors that I've had to listen to before. He does give really good instructions however on your breathing which for me was very helpful.
Alright bloggers it's time to get to work and get this day going. Hope you all are having a great one!
