As babies, we had mommy.
As toddlers, we had thumbs or pacifiers.
As 4 year olds, we had blankies.
As 5 - thru -10 year olds, we had teddy bears.
As we got older, we had ACCESS TO THE FRIDGE!
Isn't it time we grew up a little more, and learned a more mature way to comfort ourselves? Don't get me wrong, comforting ourselves is essential; but comfort FOOD is... well... the road to FAT is paved with good comfort food, to abuse a well-known saying.
And I, I, I (!) have abused comfort food. Not today. Not yesterday. But I have. And I will again. Because it is SO much easier than growing up and being a REAL 50+ year old! But .... I just, I just... get so.... DISAPPOINTED in myself. I am capable of better things.
When I was born, I was a BABY, and rightly so!
Now, I'm just a big FAT baby, and what is my excuse?
I have LOTS of excuses! And not a one has made me a better person.
Boy. I just realized I have more work to do than just lose weight!
