I am in total agreement with how rewarding yourself throughout your journey will lead you to success. Rewards are your very own payment for reaching your mini goals and a personal way of saying "Thanks you "to yourself. So many of us fail to thank ourselves for getting up each morning and workout out, for staying motivated and on track 99% of the time. When we fail to thank our self we are belittling our own accomplishment. SO remember to say Thank you to your own body each and every day.
In March of 2009 I sat down and started my Sparks Journey again for the last time, as this time I was on the right track. I was determined and I followed Chris's advise and I wrote out my goals and rewards posting them on the refrigerator as my daily reminder of why my new lifestyle was important! I knew I wanted to get back all the health I lost with my weight gain and I was determined that I would live an active life with my grandkids. One of my original reward goals back on that March day was to reward myself with a vacation on a sunny beach. Even though I am not 100% to my goal weight, I am extremely proud of where I am today. I am a new person not only on the outside but also on the inside. And for my one year and 90 pound weight loss success I will be taking a family vacation with my husband, daughter, grandson and granddaughter for a week filled stay on Clearwater Beach. (Son-in-law can not get off work:-(. ) I might still dread the bathing suit but I am sure ready for the white sandy beach and warm sun.
I feel awesome living my new healthy lifestyle. I know with each and every small step, I am that much closer to my final goal. WIth each and every goal and reward I have met, I know as a bonus I will get to reach in my bag of lifetime dreams and decide on a new reward to take its place.
Seriously, I know Life does not get much better than this!
