What are you doing the rest of your life?

What things have you surrendered to your weight?
It seems that when we gain weight, it takes away the little joys that really matter. We avoid socializing (what outfit could possibly look good?), taking our children to amusement parks (we don't want to embarrass our loved ones), shopping for new/trendy clothes (who can look in those three way mirrors and not want to binge?), intimacy (yikes! Don't want to scare the spouse). Not to mention the health reasons of which there are many. The lists can go on and on.
I personally am tired of my weight deciding for me what I will or will not do, making me feel vulnerable, unworthy and unhealthy. I am committed to ridding myself of this deadly villain once and for all. I will not give my power to weight any longer.
So without excess weight, what will you do with the rest of your life?
For me, what will I do the rest of my life? ANYTHING I WANT!!!!!!!!!!!! emoticon

This is EXACTLY where I am!! I cannot even begin to count the activities I have missed out on because I was not comfortable enough with my 'self' to go...OR I went, like to my daughter's ballgames, and have been so miserable with my 'self'.

FREELADY, I am not to that place in the book yet. That is such a great perspective. What am I missing out on if I continue eat like I have been?

Thank you two ladies soooo much!!

    Let's do this thang!!

What you say is so important in my life right now. It's the fill-in to go with a key concept in my Beck Diet Solution book: I may feel that I'm missing out on a certain way of eating or a certain food, by sticking to a healthy plan. ACTUALLY by staying overweight I am missing out on so much. YOU ARE SO RIGHT. I have surrendered a great deal to my excess weight. Thank you for wordsmithing this so aptly. What have I given up in order to stay overweight??? Now, NO MORE surrender!!! I join you in ousting the deadly villain! emoticon
