Docs, Doctors and MEANIES

Friday, February 19, 2010

Yesterday I had a conversation with my DR, who was going over the whole weight, dieting issue. He apparently isnt the positive individual I am. He begins to tell me that I really need to work on my dieting...but doesnt realize that although my weight per say has not made a drastic change...the inches to my body has. I am smaller now...than I ever been (in inches). In the last year I have lost over 31 inches in my body...(which was totally neat to see that this has more options for measuring inches...cause I measure myself 2x a month)
But I have seen the inches...and was astounded that my DR would be so rude...
He stated that I in early 2009 was a certain weight.....and now I am at that weight again...when I tried to tell him that I was losing inches...and that was more important..he tried to argue with me...

I think I am going to have to change DRs
Cause I dont need negative downers like that!!!

AMEN! I've fired 2 doctors in the last 5 years, not over weight specifically, but over the way they abused my time (long waits) or chose drug/surgery over lifestyle changes.

You need to find a doctor that isn't solely focused on a number on a scale, but the other measures of health. Are you able to walk further/ longer? Can you do more pushups/ crunches? Can you play with your children/ pets?

You deserve a provider that will not put you in a box and feel like he/she did his/her job!
