My first blog entry - ever!

Thursday, February 18, 2010

Hi everyone. I'm a writer, but I have never blogged before. Chalk up another Sparkpeople-motivated lifetime first. emoticon

For my fellow fibro people: I have read a lot about ribose supplementation to increase energy levels for people with chronic fatigue issues. I have now been using it (5 grams, 2 times a day) for about two months. My energy levels have definitely increased, in spite of major stresses -- holidays, workload, boyfriend's fight with prostate cancer, my son leaving home for college, for example. I am not recommending it to anyone (I'm no health care professional), but if you were already thinking about trying it, you might really want to research it.

Here in NoVA, there might be a light at the end of the snowy tunnel, finally. It's still blustery and cold -- more than 10 degrees colder than normal -- but for the last few days, nothing nasty has fallen from the skies!

I don't make New Year's resolutions, but for the last couple of years I've been picking a yearly theme or motto. This year's theme is "Cast out the darkness," which means trying my best to eliminate negative influences from my life.

I hope that everyone who is reading this is content and confident and motivated by the knowledge that they are doing good things for themselves by participating in Sparkpeople. Enjoy!

Nice blog. I'm glad that you have found something to help with your energy level. That can make such a difference and really help with your efforts to better overall health. I too am so glad that nothing has been falling from the sky this week. The sun was so beautiful today.
