HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wednesday, February 17, 2010

I seriously need an intervention or a swift kick in the @$$. I can't seem to find that inner strength to get off my butt and move. I just looked in the mirror and you don't even want to know what I saw. I know I can do this I have to do this but the energy and drive are just not there.

I need help.

I promised myself that I would do march in place for 5 minutes while waving my arms about. So I turned on the tv and set the timer. Okay, so I only exercised for 5 minutes but everytime I did it after that first day, I added a couple of minutes, until one day I was watching a comedy and really getting into it when I noticed that I had exercise for 40 minutes.

I am not going to say that I exercise for 20 or 40 minutes everyday, but I do walk to my car and then circle it a few times or go to the restroom that is not close to my desk sot that I get a few extra minutes in daily. After doing this for a few weeks, I noticed that my undies where fitting differently which caused me to notice that m clothes were looser as well.

In other words, getting up for just a couple of minutes and not worrying about tomorrows exercise or if you are doing everything that you should, just get up.

Yes. I agree with tinksmom1 - Get up and promise yourself 10 minutes. You can stop after 10 minutes. That will get you started and you'll more than likely find that you'll want to keep going after the 10 minutes is up.

The best way to achieve a big goal is to break it up into small achievable goals. I want to lose 150 lbs sounds really daunting: I want to lose 1 lb sounds achieveable. I have to exercise everyday can sound pretty tough: I'm going to park farther away and take the stairs sounds a bit easier. I have to eat 1200 calories a day- instead say: I will replace soda with water, and eat one fruit/vegetable everyday. You HAVE to start small to gain momentum or you'll run out of fuel.

You can do this!!!!

I am dealing with the same thing! I hate the mental torture when you want to do it so bad but you just can't push yourself. My friend who lost 200 pounds said to stop thinking about it --just start moving. He said if I give myself too much time to think when its time to workout I will talk myself out of it. Its true. Good luck!
