Ok, the entry is about yogurt. I read alot of health articles and such on a daily basis. Recently I've been reading alot about yogurt. A very main staple in my families diet. I am shocked about what I have discovered!!
This is probably not going to come as a surprise to you, but just in case you haven't checked here goes.....
Several months ago I read about how much sugar is in fruit flavored yogurt. My kids love fruit flavored yogurt. So I started buying vanilla instead and adding my own fruit. That was not that big of a shock to me.
I recently read that plain organic is best, so on my last trip to the store (My small town does not regularly carry Greek yogurt) I thought I'd check it out, here is what I discovered. This is a one cup serving size.
GV Brand Low-Fat Vanilla / Stny.Field Organic Low Fat Plain
Calories - 210 / 120
Fat - 1.5 / 2
Potassium- 320 / 510
Carbs - 41 / 15
Sugars - 35 / 14
Protein - 7 / 1 0
Note: That is vanilla yogurt, not fruit yogurt! I can only imagine!!
Look at the calories, carbs and sugars!! Wow!! I can add my own darn vanilla!! That is crazy!!
