Yes Stefanie, Age is just a number to me

As I read the blog “Age is it just a number to you” I reflected back some 23 years ago. I remember feeling overwhelmed at “27” as that big 3-0 appeared to be drawing ever so close. I belonged to a volleyball group at “Butternut Elementary” in Aloha Oregon and one of the ladies told me life truly gets better in the 30's. Well another lady piped in and said, “no way 40's are even better yet“. Well at 27-I thought they were all crazy, as how could getting older be better.
This year I turn 50 and I have found that these ladies were exactly right and so is Stefanie’s aunt in her blog. I loved being 49 and I am even more excited to be turning 50 next month. One year ago in March I gave myself the best 49th birthday present, and it was to take control of my life and get healthy. I wanted to be able to play with my Grandkids and keep up with my own life.
I am so thankful that I returned to Sparks 11 months ago, as this time it was totally different. I guess I was the one totally different, as this time I was completely committed and had a cause. I bought myself some workout tapes, gave up diet Pepsi and started my healthy journey.
Next month I will not only celebrate my 50th birthday, but also my 1-year anniversary with Sparks and my new healthy lifestyle. Life really does only get better with age and I am loving it! Who would of ever thought those ladies at “Butternut Elementary” would be so wise and right! Age is really just a number to me.
