Why I Love Travelling to Far Away Places

If anyone watched The Amazing Race tonight, leg 1 was in Valpariaso, Chile en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Va
where I was as well just before Christmas and only a couple of weeks after the Amazing Race filming. It was one of the cities I visited in my month long trip to the southern half of South America. It's funny because when I was in Buenos Aires, as I got lost, turned around, walked back and forth looking for a bus stop and ran into translation problems, I was thinking of and feeling like an Amazing Race participant.
The racers took a funicular and painted walls similar to my photo here. I walked and climbed those hills and along Templeman many times. I love travelling and seeing the places I was at far from home on TV! No, LA and Vegas don't count. It has to be difficult to get to. And if you look at those hills, that is why I lost weight (not evident in my photo above)! I haven't watched the full episode yet but I'm looking forward to figuring out where each task was. I checked online and found that leg 2 (next week) is in Puerta Varas (Puerto Montt) where I also was on my trip to southern Chile.
And I was watching the Olympic Moguls tonight - all the worry about the courses and the rain, well you would never know it from looking at the course on TV. They managed to create snow. They were on Cypress Mtn which is about half an hour from Vancouver and you can see it from the city. I really like the Olympic flame cauldron. I'm too far away to have gone and I didn't want to deal with all the hassle. I'm not a winter sports person but I like watching it on TV (sometimes on my exercise bike). www.vancouver2010.com/ol
Today I've been busy backing up my computer, cleaning up hard drives and shredding many years worth of my Mom's documents, much from 10 to 15 years ago. What a chore. No wonder my place feels so disorganized and cluttered. It's really time consuming to cut out every name and SIN, credit card nbr or health care number from each bill, receipt, junk mail etc and put it through the mini shredder. I can't beleive how many times they print the name and the relevant number on a statement, invoice or bill. These are from when they printed the whole cc number. And my Mom saved every cc receipt, statement and bill. Cutting out all personal information and using a mini shredder is necessary though given what people will go through to get their hands on that information. A strip shredder isn't good enough for that bit .
Cheers to all my spark friends!
