Texas snow

Thursday, February 11, 2010

Some of you will laugh, but this is not our typical winter weather. We have had snow before, but not like this. By tomorrow morning this will be all melted and everything will be back to normal. I've always said that if they closed the schools back in Indiana for snow falls like this, I would still be in high school.

HAHA!! I have more snow than that in my freezer!!! We have had snow for the past seven days.. I have shoveled snow every day for the past three weeks after work.
The last time I was in Wichita Falls, Texas in February 1974, on the AFB, they had a freak ice storm for two days,, dropped baseball sized hail all over, natives freaked out, I was wearing shorts,, it was 50 degrees,, -37 degrees back home when I left the airport!

I laughed at everyone on the Olympic Peninsula when we lived there till I tried to drive on roads shaded by tall conifers with an inch of packed snow. Not only that, but people who live where they don't get much snow don't drive well when they do get snow. We have about 4" on the ground now with taller drifts left from the last 2 snows. More snow is forecast for tonight. So ready for Spring!

Wow, Alan! Are you in the mountains in Texas or down low? Even we're not ahving that kinda weather here in northern Oregon. We had one day of snow in December and that was it.

How pretty though.
