The end of a cycle, the beginning of the next..

Last thursday, i had a WIC appointment, it was rescheduled (from tuesday)because of their offices being closed because of the couple of inches of snow we'd gotten the previous saturday! (i really hate that about the south!)
ANYWAY, going through the typical questions the nutritionist likes to ask, and belittle you at the same time because you know nothing about raising children with proper nutritional needs..uh hello..i've got 4 children. the "nod and smile" thing comes in really handy. So at the time i was still nursing my son, whom was getting recertified i said that because of the shots he'd received he'd changed his eating pattern again going from only 4x a day to like 6-8.. well he decided that very day to stop nursing! SOOO PAINFUL! Outside of the emotional upheaval, cuz he's the last munchkin i'm gonna have.

so, now that i'm not nursing anymore, i can majorly cut back my calories and really watch my intake without fear of starvation mode.

I've also not wanted to smoke either. i thought i needed one to help settle my nerves last week, but really i didn't. i had it, but it really made me feel sick..so i've not touched one since. I've now got $120 in savings as well. that's $30 per child to start their own savings :) now just to get to the bank and get their accounts started..that'd be awesome :)

Got our income and state refunds in last week too! it's nice to be all caught up! and there's even still a bit of money left. that feels great. Now, i just need to refocus on my dietary habits and get of this stinkin plateau!!

have a good night!

It's great that you are going to be able to monitor your calories and weight more accurately now. :-)
I know Kai taking this step away from you must be very sad.. (hug) But it was bound to happen.
Screw these tards at WIC. grr. Any govt run program has to be loaded with idiocy.

Outstanding. Keep with it. You will be off the plateau before you know it. Give your body a bit yet to adjust to the changes and then steam on.

Joy, my kids are 12, 7, 5, and 1. my husband is currently unemployed so i can actually go back to work at least part time. but he's going to school at night for EMT training, so i have to be sure not to interfere with that, and i'm also getting some further training for Scouts. but that's mostly weekend stuff. i don't know if i can find work, it seems to be slim slim pickin's right now. it's been 7 years since i've had a job outside of home. lol!

I'm sorry that you had such a hard time with the WIC appointment. At least things are rolling along for you again. What's the prospect on being able to return to work? I can't imagine the daycare costs for 4 kids (how old are they all?).

Hang in there - it sounds like you are moving forward!
