Not sure about this!

Monday, February 08, 2010

The GLBH and I had a relaxing day today did some nearby shopping just waiting for the heavy snow to come. Got our hairs trimmed, need to look good for everyone.
Headed across town to eat at our favorite Deli, lookalike Subway but so much better, cheaper and locally owned. Was a good boy and ordered salad bar only meaning lettuce only for me and heard the same thing I've heard for the last 50 years, how can you eat that dry without salad dressing on and I repeat the same answer I've said for the last 50+ years, don't need any of that oily stuff on there just as good with a little pepper. Life doesn't change much for the Ole Duffer.
Been putting off for some time purchasing something we both will need sometime soon. We've been looking at various samples and colors and just wasn't quite sure if we should "bite the bullet" and finally take the plunge. Heading towards Wally World to cash in our coupons, noticed this Granite Works truck in the other lane. I say hey there GLBH isn't that the place you wanted to visit? She agreed so I say follow that truck, wernt sure where their place of business was. Walked amongst all the granite set on gravel pads and thought this is goanna be harder than her picking out her dress for the # 1 GS wedding. Wow, so many colors, designs, and shapes, how do you chose. I speak up first and ask where is the cheapest one, figuring I wouldn't be looking at it too much. Well at least it was a starting point. There are some things in life my vote just don't count! Found one that looked OK and what sold me was they were going to throw in a free flower vase with the deal if we decided real soon. Now I don't want to rush things but I know a good deal when I see one! Beside that, I hadn't got the GLBH a Valentines gift yet. I might get in trouble for that one! Isn't life the greatest. emoticon Skeeter

Good to get things done that you want & the hair trim is a must. My DH is putting off getting his trimmed until next week just before we fly home for GS wedding. He is beginning to look shabby. Today we have ticket for the Tampa State Fair
Country Gold Tour 2010 at 4 PM. We are taking Melvin with us & leaving at his place about 1:30PM. At least DH is walking some better. Next week he has to to have a root canal done. Had teeth checked late Nov just before we left IL. Your blolg's are great. Proud of you! Anne

You know, those things are really more for the family than for you, anyway. They will be grateful you took care of it, so they don't have to, though. It doesn't mean you have to plan on using it real soon. :) And, I wish I could eat salad with no dressing! Just can't acquire the taste.

I think I covered my rear on the real gift when I brought her and my DIL home 2 dozen strawberry's dipped in chocolate.

It is always great to get things out of the way! But my dear friend...don't end up in the "doghouse" Get out and get that valentine's gift; we don't want to see you using that spot prematurely!

It is good to get that sort of business out of the way, but I don't think that it will qualify as a Valentine's Day gift. I'm with you though, the cheaper the better. I won't have to look at it much, if at all.

    What is GLBH?

I want to get some granite or quartz for my island top one day. I thought to go to Home Depot. It needs to be 3 x 4.6 but oval. I was wondering how long I'd have to save up for such an item! emoticon
