I Survived Superbowl Sunday

Monday, February 08, 2010

Yesterday was a busy day. I spent most of the morning straightening up the house and preparing our Superbowl goodies - we had invited another family over to watch the game with us ... and eat. I prepared a platter of carrot & celery sticks & radishes with hummus, homemade guacamole, salsa and tortilla chips, and Jambalaya for the adults. Cheese tortellini alfredo and garlic bread for the kids. The first half of the day was so busy that I never got on the computer, and I never really ate, except for grabbing a granola bar on my way to the airport to pick up Lee.

Then it was back home to put out the food, and welcome our guests. I poured myself one glass of wine, which made me a little tipsy, considering I had an empty stomach. Although I never got onto SP to journal my food, this is basically what I ate: tortilla chips with guacamole. A few carrot sticks. One serving of jambalaya and about four mini toll house cookies that I had baked for dessert. Based on that, I'm thinking Superbowl damage could have been a lot worse. I find that when I'm doing the entertaining, I'm busy getting this and that, and I don't eat a lot. When I'm the guest, and sitting on my rear, I tend to eat much more.

Later in the evening, I thought about having a diet coke or some orange juice, but settled on two tall glasses of water instead. Trying hard to get that water in!

Great job on surviving Super Bowl Sunday. Toll House cookies are definitely a weakness of mine :-)

Sounds like you did great! I did much the same thing but watched puppy bowl instead of the Super Bowl. Probably unAmerican! emoticon
