Plan B...

Monday, February 08, 2010

Looks like Mother Nature is going to try and throw some monkey wrenches into my trip into NYC early Weds. a.m. in the form of some heavy snows.

I *may* need to have a Plan B in which I leave early Tues. and stay overnight as close to Rockefeller Plaza as possible.

Problem is, I am a total dunce when it comes to NYC and wouldn't have a clue as to the most reasonable, yet decent place to stay.

Any suggestions folks may have would be GREATLY appreciated! Don't want to be held up by traffic-related delays on my big day!

Many thx, in advance...!

Boy, I wish I could help you out...but I have no idea about NYC. However, try AAA or AARP if you're a member of either of those places - they might be able to help you out!

Good luck and have a great time representing SparkPeople!!

If you're a member of AAA they can help you find the best place. Another option, try to get the Dr Oz staff member to help you locate a good place to stay (as in suggest an area.)

Try Orbitz, Priceline, Kayak ... the online sites for hotel, air, and so on reservations. And as another person posted, think about staying just outside of the city & taking public transit into the city.

I have stayed at many Choice hotels when traveling for work. Just choicehotels.com - they have a wide variety of hotel/motels (sleep inn, comfort inn, clarion, rodeway, etc.)

It might be pricey, but the stress will be off to get there. Good luck & let us know how it all turns out once all the shouting is done LOL

HOLY CRAP YOU ROCKSTAR!!!!! I need to read your feed more often, well ok I need to read everyones' more often but WAY TO GO!!! NYC is amazing!!!! Taking the public transportation is a breeze so stay outside the city if you can find a better rate but also factor in the cost of travel when comparing prices may add 20-30 to your daily bill plus time to travel. Now I need to tape the show and watch! Wish I could go with you and be on the show but I could not think of a better person to represent SparkPeople than you! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

You might consider staying just outside the city and taking the train in, depending on what time you need to be at the studio. It would be much cheaper. Hopefully someone else can be of more help.
