UGH!! I've GAINED weight!

I've been doing a lot of walking lately. I have two hours to kill, sometimes more, most days I'm at school. Since I go to school 2 1/2 hours away from home (yes, I make that commute each day), I spend that extra time walking around campus and the surrounding area. So you'd think I'd be losing weight, right?

Unfortunately, I've also been eating a lot of fast food. I have not been at all good about packing healthy foods to take with me each day. That's got to stop! I just had to buy a new pair of jeans because I was down to one, and I had to go up a size! Aaaarrrrgh!!!

NO MORE! I'm determined to start taking healthy foods with me in a cooler, upping my walking to add some jogging, and adding some weight-lifting when I'm home. Nothing really strenuous, just a few extra minutes a day. Increase my activity level, decrease the junk food. I should see at least SOME results. I'm not looking for miracles. At this point I'd like to lose 10 lbs. Then I'll worry about the next 10 lbs after that.

    You have a head start by knowing what the problem is. It took me a long time, too long, in fact. I spent 8 years working out at the gym, thinking that's all I needed to do. Wrong. I was pretty fit and pretty fat. It wasn't until I started monitoring food intake that the weight began to come off. I wish you well in getting healthier AND in getting your degree,

    Thanks! I know I need to knuckle down and really watch my eating. I knew the fast food was not helping, but I thought the walking would counteract it. Not so!

    Hang in there, I find sometimes that you have to add cardio exercise in the routine. I love walking but with walking alone, I do not lose weight.
