Well here's to my first blog! Woo hoo! I'll start off by saying how obsessed I am with SP! It is like the greatest thing ever! Thanks to my girl at work, I never would have known about this wonderful community.
In the past I have went on my "health kicks" as I like to call them... but they would never last more than a week or two. I have even dabbled in those garbage diet pills. Sooo bad for you! However this time around, being older and mature, I am ready to adapt a new lifestyle for myself. With the help of SP, I cannot wait to incorporate this into my daily living. I have already become obsessed with the calorie counting... but not in a psycho/ eating disorder way. I am just amazed at the content of different foods. Seeing how much I used to eat, I don't even want to begin to think of how many calories per day I was consuming! I should be lucky I'm not the size of a house! So yea, the food tracker is a huuuggee help for me! I've already replaced my breakfast with either cereal or frust in place of french toast sticks, loads of syrup and bacon egg and cheese toaster pastries. I snack on only fruits during mid morning. And I have made some great adjustments at lunchtime too. I still have to work on dinner... this is where I consume most of my calories. I just bought a tape measurer today and my next purchase is an electronic scale. Little changes = long last results, right? My favorite saying I have heard so far is "It took a long time to gain the weight, it's going to take a longer time to take it off" and that is soo true. I remind myself of this everytime I get frustrated. Helps :)
All of this may be boring to whomever is reading this, but I am just showing my excitement and dedication to this wonderful world of Spark People!! :)
