Progress - 1st Month

February is here. Wow! This year is already flying. It seems like just yesterday I made the commitment to myself to start off the year right and get back to my pre-pregnancy weight and the healthier lifestyle I so long for.
I am excited to share that this first 4 weeks were great. There's still a lot of learning and a lot of work to do, but I managed to take off 5 lbs in 4 weeks! And not only have some of the weight already come off, but I have also managed to make it a habit to track my food intake on a daily basis. I have slacked a little in following the Spark People meal plans to the tee and this is where I see room for improvement and lots of learning to do! Last week was a perfect example. I failed to reach my goal of 1200 calories daily on several days and did notice a difference in energy levels and weight loss for the week.
Lessons learned so far:
1. Keep food log going! It's such a great tool...
2. Maintain a healthy balance between exercise (calories burned) and intake. Too little calories in can do as much damage as too much.
3. Plan meals ahead: this can help tremendously especially if we're planning to go out to dinner to a restaurant. Take the time to research their menus so you can make better/well informed decisions.
4. TAKE IT DAY BY DAY - Weight loss will come slowly but surely. It's not going to happen from one day to the next. So even if the scale does not budge this week or next week, keep moving! The weight will come off and you will notice the difference in the way you feel.
Will be sharing my progress on a weekly basis moving forward. This month will be AMAZING! I can already see it.
