Today I Fell...

Monday, February 01, 2010

...Oh yes I did!!! Made it to work just fine. I noticed immediately that there was ice right outside the car door. I carefully stepped over it, took another step and WHAM!!! Down I went. I fell on my bad hip, but I bounced back up. I laughed when as I was bouncing back up because I was so happy that I workout and take care of myself. After all...I am 55 years old so it could have been bad. After I got to the office, I worked out for 20 minutes.

This fall was actually good for me. I've been messing up and could not seem to get back on track. I kept trying and I believe that is why I have not gained a lot of weight back. But I was so thankful that I wasn't hurt, that I've decided that if I could pick myself up after a hard fall, then I can pick myself up and get my focus back.

I love giving support to others, but I realized this morning that I need to give myself some support too.

Best to You!

Falling and being able to get back up is worth the exercise at any age. Keep up the hard work and congratulations on being MOD! emoticon emoticon

Congrats on being MOD. I hope that you are feeling fine after your fall and still motivated by it. Sometimes we need a reminder of why we are really doing this. Sure we want to look good, but all of us really want health and strength!

When I had a fitness coach, he asked me, "what do you want to accomplish?" I told him that I want to be able to get up from the floor as my mother had severe arthritis and could not get up from a chair.

I want to bounce back from the floor.

You have given me another push in that direction. I'm so glad you were not hurt.

I'm 64 and I was out shoveling 28 inches of snow yesterday and just a tad sore in the arms.

YES! We can do it.

Thank you.

So glad you weren't hurt. It is so motivating to be able to just get right back up now, I'm sure. Good for you! I agree that we give so much support to others we forget to pat ourselves on the back. Way to go!

Way to pat yourself on the back! We need to be our own biggest cheerleaders.

Hope you are not sore in the morning. Your workout will probably minimize that...
