To say that Garry was surprised is an understatement! What a fun day we had yesterday.
Once Garry had woken up and had some breakfast, we headed out with only the instructions to Garry that he needed to stop at my bank for a minute. Once that was done, he had to head to get some gas in the vehicle, still not knowing what was in store. I just kept letting the suspence grow. When the vehicle was gassed up, I told him that his gift involved "parts". Part 1 consisted of him finding and choosing a table saw! Took a bit of convincing that this was "for real". Off we headed to the various stores to find just the right one. We hit the local stores first, but there wasn't anything that fit the bill, so we headed into the city. He found exactly what he wanted, not too big and yet would handle all that he needed to do. It was also the brand that he wanted and could be folded down for storage in the garage. Unfortunately, the store didn't have any more in stock and the floor model was missing a couple of parts. They offered to check their computer to see if some of their other stores had the model....YEP! and guess where....that's right...right back home where we started. The gentleman phoned the store as we had said we had just come from there and they didn't have any! Turns out they do have them, just not out on the floor. We headed back home again to our local store to pick it up. They asked if we could come back today, as they needed to get it from the warehouse. Okay, no problem....especially as it was also on sale! YAY, $100 off! So Garry will get his table saw and he is thrilled.
Part 2 was heading out for a lunch together. We headed first to Original Joe's, but even at 1:30 in the afternoon, the place was full, so we headed instead to Montana's Cookhouse where we had a very nice lunch. By the time we got home it was late afternoon, and Garry was one very happy person.
I love being able to pull off surprises! It was so much fun.
So far the predicted snow fall for this weekend has not really materialized. We've had a few attempts to snow, but nothing else. It's very dull and overcast though, but has been that way for the past couple of days...so who knows what today will hold.
I'm planning on having a relaxing day and just going with the flow. Garry says we just might head to St. Albert to have a visit with my brother and his wife...we'll see how the day goes. It's a lazy day!
Hope your plans for the day involved relaxation.
Have a great day,
Hugs,
Wanda
