Not losing sight of a goal...

It has been a rough few weeks with business travel and a stressful work environment. I just realized something however; this time I might be serious about achieving my goal. I haven't given up! I've learned to forgive myself when things aren't going perfectly. If I've had a bad week nutritionally or meeting my exercise goals, I refocus and get back to my plan.
My goal is to run at least one 8k and a couple of 5k runs this year. I've been training to run for several months now. I had to start out with a very basic run/walk program. I am now able to jog consistently for a little over 2 miles straight. While I'd say 80% of the challenge is mental, each week I accomplish my mileage objective I feel empowered and I want to keep going. I'm already starting to think about longer races. I'm feeling challenged again. I love this feeling of accomplishment!
