PM Snack at work or home....major dilemma here

The usual daily nutrition regime includes an afternoon snack that will almost always consist of something healthy and no more than 200-250 calories. However, because I have not quite yet gotten to that "place" (keeping my nutrition almost entirely clean) after my surgery, I know that the afternoon snack dilemma will soon come into play for me as I prepare for my nutrition and fitness plan for 2010 and the rest of my life. It already is a forethought of what has always been a bit of an issue for me. I eat so well while at work, but once I arrive at home, where I am most comfortable and relaxed, I tend to see my pantry as a feeding frenzy closet....ugh! emoticon For that reason, I've cleaned it out to prepare for my first week of a 7 day detox, then continuing on to get back to the basics of "Grace's" eating, (what my friends call it) all things good, healthy and mostly clean. (When I say "mostly", is because I for some reason cannot get to that Complete Clean Eating, which is all raw, fresh and clean foods, no preservatives, no foreign ingredients, etc.), at least not yet.

I have come up with a tentative plan. I will not have my PM snack until I get home from work. Yea! That's it....yea...yea....NOT...The issue I foresee, is that if my afternoon gets so busy that I end up getting home later than usual, I will be famished by the time I get home and will probably binge....I'm sorry, I KNOW I'll binge. I know that I've been confronted with this situation more than once and it wasn't pretty. So I just don't know if this will work. My other plan would be to change my entire eating times, i.e., later breakfast, later AM snack, later lunch, so by that time, it'll hopefully be time to head home to have that PM snack before dinner. Hmmmmm, that might be doable.

I guess I'll have to see what happens once I get started back up again. I have my 6 week post op appt. this coming Wed. This will be where my doctor will hopefully finally release me to get back to my normal life and back to the things I love. The following Mon., 2/8, I start my 7 day detox for a jumpstart to clean eating. Then Mon., 2/15, I begin water aerobics and an ease into walk/jog program. I know for sure that I will start to feel a WHOLE lot better once I can start moving....moving....moving. While out on this haitus during recovery, my activity has been very minimal. That is about to change....YIPPEE!!!!

It is time to get this show on the road and this dilemma will not get the best of me, IT ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT!!!

So did I rectify this dilemma???? Someone tell me, please.....ugh!

    Grace, you are awesome babe!!!! Always wanting the very best for yourself and from yourself. Love that about you! I eat clean, most of the time. I do have a few questionable items to the clean purist. But I'm not looking to be obsessive about it, just to make healthy choices for me. Try to stay focused on you nutritional needs and make sure you are eating a balanced diet. You will feel amazing. You are smart cookie, so I know you will figure out what works best for you. If you want some ideas for that afternoon snack, I like to have almonds, an orange and a cup of skim milk!!! Or an apple with sunflower seed butter and skim milk. I know some do not do dairy, but I need the calcium and I love milk.
