Nurse Interview

Friday, January 29, 2010

Well She was very nice, compassionate, things qualities I was looking for than there's the but......She has another client 5 days a week, only 5 hours. She'd rather work the 3 12 hour shifts I can give her but..... She doesn't want to hurt this man's feelings leaving him although he is himself interviewing nurses. She wants to work here and asked if we had a "red roof Inn or motel close by" as she lives a distance. I live in the country and the closet hotel we have are dog boarders(kennels)-We do have a bed and biscuit! (I think that's catchy!) She talked more of her 2 clients than asking questions of John. She needs a R.N. Supervisor which she has for the other clients but said I'm too far away, would the RN working here be her supervisor? I told her alot of info about John, said it is not a babysitting job, alot to watch and do at night..after all was said and done, she said "he doesn't sound that complex" but.....she also said her Dad had a traumatic brain injury too,and was familiar with seizures and the meds...so again I'm at a loss.....I'm not sure where this whole thing is going to lead.

I did have someone e-mail me last night with the words "maybe I can help" WHAT DOES THAT MEAN????If I was out looking for a job,Id ask about the patient or maybe tell about my qualifications. So here I sit no farther along in the process than I was a week ago,2 months ago

And I'm not really that far out in the country! Yes we do have stores, and wow we even have running water!! emoticon

I am waiting though for her to call me,as I left a voice mail asking in detail days she can/cannot work-now will have to check with RN here to see if she would supervise, Oh but life goes on!!

I know I'm a few days late in replying to your blog but I agree with the others. Besides, as a woman/mother/wife you know that you should trust your instincts. There's something strange about the nurse whom was applying for the job and why would the patient she's currently looking after be interviewing nurses? I wouldn't trust her and the fact that she didn't ask questions about the patient is strange too! Also, that e-mail you received is strange too! That's not exactly the right way to go about getting a job! Did you ever figure out what that was about?

If I were you I'd wait until you find someone that you feel good about. Someone whom puts off the right "vibes" if you know what I mean?! This is not something you want to rush into. I hope you find the best person soon.

yea your right-I understand she wants more hours-the other client was 5 hours 5 days a week-working with my John would be 36 hrs and 4 full days off-Im getting disgusted with this whole thing and need to take a step back emoticon --it won't hurt that I call the one who said "maybe I can help" she actually lives right here in my town! her last name though I hope isn't the person I know, the Mom when my kids were growing up acted like her s8i5 didn't smell-sorry for the bluntness but getting tired.Husband should be up soon than my turn to nap.At least Marie comes in tonight, she's helping so much, working 60 hours a week.Next time we have John alone is sunday I think.---Thanks for all input, when written, and I see responses it just seems clearer-Thanks everyone!!

So sorry to hear that you still have no resolution but I have to second what's already been said. So one will come along and I hope it's soon! Take care.

I agree with Bortei, there's something that just doesn't add up with her. After reading your blog there is an uneasy feeling.

Good luck with your search...
Wish I could be more helpful.

Thoughts and prayers..

I am not sure Kathleen about this one. I am also surprised that instead of asking important info about John, she spoke of her other clients. Also with what she said why apply if she already is working elsewhere, also why is her current client looking for a new nurse?.

Sorry Kathleen, from what you said she does not sit well with me. Based on everything do you really think she is suitable. I have serious doubts.

Also that e-mail you received saying "Maybe I can help" what is that all about. That is not how one applies for a position. Very strange!

Do you have others that are suitable to interview? I hope someone competent will bless your door step very very soon.
