For the most part, I feel pretty good today!

Tuesday, January 26, 2010

Today was a good day for me. I woke up feeling pretty good, although 6 hrs. of sleep is just not cutting it. So with that said, this will be short and sweet because it is almost 9pm and I'm going nighty-night, emoticon. At the moment, I feel good about today, a bit of a turning point for me again. Worked a full day and actually sat at my desk and had lunch. I ate pretty well today, except I went over my calories by 150 but I'm okay with that. I've already figured out why and what I'll do to fix that tomorrow and the next day and the next. My DH is normally at home in the evenings during the winter and when the weather is not so cold he likes to get out and powerwalk. So the weather has been a bit cooperative the past couple of days. Well he had to umpire a softball game tonight, so no walking for him. I'd already planned to walk with him but when he emailed me and said he would not, lately I would've just said, "Okay, I'll just chill tonight as I still am in recovery." Not this time...I called a good friend of mine and asked her if she would like to walk. So we did for 45 min. and I believe it was about 2 miles. Woohoo! So excited, a true breakthrough, cause I actually feel good this time. It's been almost 7 weeks since I've worked out and 6 wks since my surgery, so to me this is a good turning point.

Walked - 45 min. (2 miles)

Listed in "My Nutrition"
1. Ate 150 more than higher end calories - I'm okay with that.
2. Drank the amount of water I alloted for me this week.
3. Ate veggies/fruit I alloted for me this week.
4. Stayed within sodium range

All in all this was a good start to something great!!!

As always, I am impressed by your perseverance! Good for you! I'm so glad you got your walk in. A friend to walk with makes it much more fabulous!!! I'm proud of you for moving through your recovery slowly and not pushing yourself too fast. I'm watching over my shoulder, because I know I have a fierce competitor (and friend) coming up behind me shortly!

How nice that you called someone to join you on a walk. That was certainly good for both of you. If is so nice to hear that you feel you are moving towards recovery.

Take care and get enough sleep. emoticon
