I found 46 cents today

Tuesday, January 26, 2010

Do you ever find money on the ground? When you do see some, do you pick it up or leave it there.

I have been using public transit since 1995 and that is when I started noticing coins at the bus stops and I always picked them up. From there I started noticing coins in the parking lots. My sis told me once that I should save all the coin and see how much I can collect in a year. Well is does vary over time, but I think if I had saved it all, I might have a roll or two of pennies by now. (lol)

Once I found a dime and a penny and told her inflation was 50%. Well only 1 penny had increased (the amount wasn't important) and the other penny was still a penny. Needless to say she did not understand or appreciate my crazy sense of humour.

Today I was walking out of the mall and saw a quarter, then a dime, then another, and finally a dark little penny hiding in the dirt. Add that to the penny I found when I was walking INTO the mall,.........................

I don't find as much now as I used to when I lived in BC, but I think I WILL start putting it into a jar. Wonder how much will be there at the end of the year?

My dad is a CPA whenever I wanted something that he did not want to pay for he would say "Save your pennies.' Well I started saving all the changed that year. I was in High school. Well it was difficult to see all the silver money in there so I began just saving the pennies. My husband and I did that and one time got about 35 dollars or so when we really needed it from pennies we had saved or found on the ground. I bet it would add up faster than we realize. Just shows how little things can add up.

That is an awesome idea. I always pick up money too, but I have never thought about how much I have found. I think I am going to start saving so I can see how much to all adds up too.

I loved this. It was funny, bright and had a good lesson to it. Just think, if we collected and diligently saved all the virtues we found lying around, maybe we'd have a wealth of them. Enough to share with our neighbor!

    Love you,Linda,

Pennies from Heaven. When I see a penny it always reminds me of my sister, my mom or my dad...all whom have passed.
My hubby and I DO have a piggy bank for "found" money. We've been collecting for years and have absolutely no idea how much is in there but the "pig" is almost full. And yes, one day, we will crack it open and donate it to a worthy cause.
Keep collecting! You never know what you'll find.

Start saving it for something good. After all, it's like a reward for doing the bends, which of course, is exercise!!

I think the lesson is this--- If you look for it, you will find it. I try to always look up down and all around. You never know what you might find. lol

Then at the end of the year you can donate the money to someone who really needs it.

Find a penny pick it up and all the day you'll have good luck!

They say you should always look up and around you when walking, but obviously, we should look down once in a while too! LOL
