Feeling oh so stoopid

Only half a kilogram loss this week and I feel really stupid. I think I starved myself. Here's the way it worked out.
- Start of week, tinkered with fitness goals, actually in terms of number of minutes of cardio. I left the 'estimate how many calories' unchanged at 5600, i.e. 800 per day.
- Then, checked nutrition tracker. Spark recommended 2000-2300 calories per day, so 'naturally' I decided I knew better and edited it to 1800-2100. D'oh!
- I exercised my blue shoes off all week. Final figures for the 7 days to Saturday: 162km, 1279 minutes, 8216 calories burned.
- Yikes! I've exceeded my calorie burn estimate by about 40%! That's not even the whole story. I don't even track the calorie value of my strength workouts, which are about 3 hours a week ... say another 1000 calories there. Summary: I'm consuming enough to sustain less than 5600, and am working out to over 9200. And I was eating in the lower end of my range all week :-(
Predictably, the scales were flat all week and I did feel like there was not much to spare. On my Friday run, for example, I had that tingling feeling in my legs that tells you that there's just not much energy in the body. I know that feeling well from fasting, it's the low blood sugar level's quite distinctive calling card. I started to twig on the problem Saturday and began to eat more ... lo and behold, the half-kilogram loss I'm reporting fell off me by Monday morning.
Anyway, I'm expecting a quieter week so I've reset my expected calorie burn to 7000 and WILL FOLLOW the recommended Spark level for calorie consumption. Sheesh!

    Oh Bilby4 I will tell you the same as I was told when I was walking 8 - 10 kms a day and cycling 5kms a day too. Of course that was before the accident.

    Muscle weigh's heavier than fat. So you may have lost much more than your 500g but try the tape measure you may have a pleasent supprise.

    I had to up my calories recently because my weight is being so stubborn. Finally a little bit of a change. That's amazing you burned 8200 calories I can see why your body was tingling.

    Eating less than your recommended calorie intake while exercising MORE = No weight loss?

    How can this be?, she asked, while not having lost an ounce since November 18 of LAST year while maintaining a 1,000 calorie a day deficit...
