OK...I don't give up that easy. My BFF, Linda, and I have decided to give the Beck Diet a try. There is a book and a workbook that we bought (I bought the CD and the workbook).

I'm now on day 2.

Here's my plan (I'll try to attach it to this post)
Goals:
Get Healthier
Stay Healthier
Look Good In Jeans

The 2 Diet Plans I Have Chosen (OK...3)
1. Abs Diet For Women
Back-up Plan: Low Sodium Diet
Back-up to Back-up Plan: Low Calorie Diet

Modifications For Each Plan Includes:
Allow myself either 1 12 oz Dr. Pepper or other 150 calorie junk food daily
Keep calories around 1600 give or take 250. (1350-1850)
One free meal per week
One free day per month (This day will include the 1 free meal that week)

To be evaluated as needed.

Welcome back too. We can do this!!

Times does fly. I don't know how I got to be 56. I should still be 42. Oh well...gotta go with the flow.

I like your idea about focusing on the emotional issues of why you eat or don't exercise. That's one of my focuses too. I'm just a spoiled brat. ha I also like your idea about creating your own plan by taking what you like from all the other programs to fit you better. That's a really good idea. It has to be something a person can make as part of their daily lifestyle. I look forward to sharing out journey with each other.

You have a Harley??? Cool! I took a motorcycle beginners course about 6 years ago. Wrecked the bike and completely broke my left arm so swore off anything with 2 wheels. I can see the draw though. I never was good at even riding a bicycle.

    Hi SpudLover,

I'm back to sparkpeople too. I think the last time I was here I was in the 40's group! My how time flies. Not sure what diet I am going to follow, I am researching several. I'm thinking of taking the best of those and making up my own. I do know that what ever I use I will include focusing on the emotional reasons for over eating and not exercising. I was successful on Weight Watchers once but cannot afford to pay for a diet this time. Also, it wasn't a lifetime fix for me and I want a lifestyle change this time. Don't want to go through this again! I have 39 pounds to lose. My goal is 128 lbs. Reasons are that I want to look HOT on my Harley this year and I want to be strong and healthy with increased confidence, and energy! So, once and for all here we go!
