hmmmph!

Friday, January 22, 2010

Well, yesterday was a fairly good day until I got about 30 minutes into my cardio and I started getting a migraine. I tried to put to 45 minutes, but I only lasted until 35 before it got to the point where my vision was blurry [usually when that starts I have about 15 minutes before my head starts to hurt, BAD]. So, I got home and decided to take some medicine and lay down around 330, but this time my head was pounding really hard and it took all I had to get to sleep [every noise and light made my head hurt even worse]. I woke up again around 5 I think it was and I felt even worse [the plan of looking at houses and going to Costco went out the door at this point], I took some more medicine and tried to fall back asleep, it was nearly impossible because I couldn't get my head to stop hurting for a second to just relax and fall back asleep. Around 630, I think, I finally got comfortable enough to get to sleep and I slept until about 830. Again, I woke up with a terrible head ache, but it wasn't the same feeling I had before [a knife in my eye hitting the back of my head feeling]. I was able to make it through two of my favorite shows [Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice] and then back to bed I went.

Today I am still suffering from a head ache, but I am hoping that as the day goes on I am able to get rid of it because tonight is birthday dinner 1 of 4 and game night with friends and I don't want to feel lousy for it.

Sorry for the venting, I am just so tired of getting head aches like this. emoticon

I have been drinking LOTS of water, I have actually gone on the longest streak of drinking 8+ glasses of water a day that I have ever been on. I have also gotten my eyes checked, but I do sit behind three computer monitors for 8 hours a day [I am a tax accountant, so more monitors the better], so that could be it also. Did you just go to like your primary doctor to figure out they were caused by hormones? I don't get them all that often, they are pretty random actually, but I know exactly when one is coming on and I make sure to get home, take some medicine, and crawl into bed to try to sleep it off.

I hope you feel better tonight. Make sure you are drinking enough water, and you should get your eyes checked too. If you read or study a lot, eye strain could be causing them but mine were caused by hormones. Now that I am on a 3 month cycle, I only get one migraine in 3 months. That I can live with! Good luck emoticon
