Why is it so hard

Wednesday, January 20, 2010

Why is it so hard to loss weight it wasnt that hard to put it on. Well hell it seems its not that hard to lose weight when you have to money to have a personal Trainner and some to cook you nutritional food. But when your a mom and a wife and your having to cook dinner for the rest of the family. By the time its time to cook dinner for you eat its to late or you just feel like you dont want to have to cook a whole other meal. Mostly when the food you just cooked you used to eat and enjoy it. I dont know maybe its just me but it seems kinda hard the only thing i can say is thank god i love subway that is going to be my dinner evey night when i dont feel like cooking two meal and that will be alot.

Hi, I can understand about being busy, I am a single mom of 4 kids. I used to cook two different meals but then only cooked healthy meals, turned out they liked them too. I never say they are healthy, I like trying new recipes so they never know what to expect. If it is good we place it in the keeper pile if not we place it in the trash and laugh about it.

I do this, If they decde not to eat what I made, the older ones can cook something else or they can have a healthy cerel or sandwich.

Here is a tough love comment:
If there is only one thing available they may just eat it, if not have your husband make their food a few times during the week. I am sure they will come around to eating a good meal. Healthy meals are not terrible tasting anymore, there are lots of delicious things to make.

I get what you all are saying but my husband is a very picky eater and so is my son they are so bad i have tried making beef stew which is good because of the veggies and i put a lot more veggies hoping they will at least eat some no luck. But I will see what happens I have been trying to change my husband way of eatting but at the age of 38 he is more like if the doctor doesnt tell me to change my eatting then im not going to change. But I do thank you all for you responds

I agree with the others...is there anyway you can just cook 1 meal? If your family are picky eaters, try making a little changes at a time, and try to encourage your family to eat healthier. Find recipes that your family will like, there are tons of recipes on sparkrecipes and theres are tons of healthy recipe books out there.

If you cant make just one meal, what about making some meals in bulk? Like make something healthy for your self, and make enough for the whole week, that way your dinner is already out of the way. You can do this for your family too, that way you dont have to cook 2 meals every night.

Good Luck!

I was basically going to say the same thing. You really don't have to cook two meals. you just have to find some healthy, tasty meals the whole family will enjoy. Or...you can cook as you always did and be determined to really pay attention to portion control. But...unhealthy is unhealthy...and once we know that why would we want to feed it to our family. It took a while for me to GET THAT. If frying things is bad for me...it's bad for my family. Subway might give you the head start you need to get going. So if that works for you...by all means use it. Keep blogging...that helps as well.

Hi, I know what you mean about having a hard time cooking meals that are healthy. I'm a wife and mom to two kids ages 12 and 15. I do most of the cooking, too. Is there a way for you to cook just one meal? I cook one meal for everyone--and that's it. What I'm eating is a good meal for everyone. Like last night, I made turkey cutlets with mushroom gravy and greens from our garden simmered in a cream sauce (lowfat recipe from Weight Watchers Magazine). Everyone liked it. It's just something to think about. I know how hard it is and overwhelming.
