update and plan for the week!

soooooo much has been happening lately - i'm going to give you the cliff's notes version:
- i started student teaching! it's been trying, amazing, tiring, enlightening, hilarious - totally awesome. i'm working with first graders, and they're ridiculous.
- i got a weird injury to my left ankle where i couldn't point my toe without severe sharp pain, and then it progressed to painful walking as well. this kept me out of the gym for the better part of 2 weeks. i finally went to the doctor, who took an x ray (found nothing) and then referred me to a specialist. the specialist called me and set up an appointment for march 3rd. MARCH 3RD?!?!?!?! i really wanted this to get taken care of sooner, but i guess i'll have to work on my patience! the pain has pretty much gone away for now...i've worked out at the gym twice, and ran once since going to the doctor, and no problems. i'm just focusing on running a little bit, and doing super low impact cardio otherwise - and also having enough rest days to ensure i'm not going to injure myself further.
- i'm getting into the gym more than ever! i have a friend who joined my gym this month, and we've been working out together a couple of days a week...we're like our own personal trainers, in that we push each other to do more, INCLUDING strength training, which has always been hard for me to stick to...and we're having a great time! since i'm so busy, it's sometimes hard to find the time to hang out AND get in my workouts, and this is a great way to kill two birds with one stone. we're going to start training for a 10K together sometime soon...she's apprehensive about running, but it's simply a mental block. we're working on building up her cardiovascular endurance first with a base level of fitness, then embarking on race training. i'm super excited! the 10K is in may, so i think we're going to start the training mid to late february, just to give us ample time.
- this week, i went for a short run on sunday, then to the gym yesterday. i'm taking today and tomorrow off because my schedule's super hectic, but here's the plan for the remainer of the week:
thurs: 3 mile run outside
fri: gym with emily - 60 mins cardio + ST arms
sat: treadmill 5K with tara, kristina and sarah!
i probably won't be as "present" on sp as i have been in the past - but i'm still trying to work hard, log my food as much as possible AND be a good sparkfriend to all of you! i hope you have an amazing and successful week!
