Why, it's a rib!
Yes, I've lost enough weight to have rediscovered my ribs. This was a joyous occasion :-)
At Monday's weigh-in I was down a full kilogram over the past week, which is exactly what I wanted. I can hardly wait to knock off at least another 0.4 kilograms as that will put me over the half-way mark from target to goal weight.
I'm still feeling good, still exercising well, in fact starting to wonder if there is much else to life. Last night I cycled through three different tv shows, became bored with each, then switched the thing off and decided to add a 4km walk to my scheduled 7km run. The weather is dodgy at this time of year...going out is a matter of playing cat and mouse with thunderstorms and cyclones. I figured I might as well get some more in while the going was good.
The run went well. I did try quite hard over the last half and my time came in at 47 minutes, which is my fastest ever for 7km. Although pleased with that, I do notice that I don't breathe properly when I go fast. I probably need some coaching about how to breathe during high intensity periods of exercise.
I've joined the Half-Marathon team in the hope of learning a few useful things. I would like to run a HM this year BUT I am not focussing on a particular date/event or preparing a training program until I reach my goal weight. When the weight's off, it's the open road for me :-)
