Magazine Subscription? - Opinions, Please!!

Hi all!

I'm trying out a reward system in 2010. I decided I'd get myself a health magazine subscription when I lose 5 pounds. Since I'm almost there (yay!!), I need to pick which magazine to subscribe to!

I'm thinking SELF, SHAPE, or FITNESS MAGAZINE. Anyone like/dislike any of these? Or have others to suggest? Can't decide which one to get!!

    Thinking I'll pick between Shape and Fitness (...or get both, if they're cheap enough? emoticon )

    I have Fitness for many years, but I finally let the subscription run out. It was getting a little repetitive, plus, with all those great workout videos at Sparkpeople, I didn't need the paper versions with just text and pictures.

    This wasn't on your original list, but I really want to get Prevention magazine. I think they have some really good health and fitness tips.

    Anyway, its great that you're rewarding yourself for your hard work!

    I LOVE Fitness!
    When I have gotten any of the other ones I was discouraged by all the raunchy photos (Since I have many kids) and many ads promoting weight loss pills.

    So, I subscribed to Fitness.
    I LOVE it and always can't wait for the next one.
    I also just subscribed to Runner's World since I've fallen in love with running. :)

    I used to subscribe to several magazines at once, but I weeded them all out and now I only get SELF. I absolutely adore it, I call it my healthy-body bible. It has everything, including nutrition (recipes and ideas), fitness (new workouts every month) and beauty. Plus, they always have articles about wellness, health news, and awareness. I love it!

    I get fitness, SHAPE, and Self. I actually didn't renew my Self bc I don't like the content nearly as much as the other 2. I am thinking of adding Women's Health as a "reward" item myself.

    I love SELF and SHAPE both, but if I had to pick one I would probably choose SELF.

    I have been a SHAPE subscriber for a few years now and I love it. I was recently offered a really good deal on SELF, so I subscribed. I haven't received my first issue yet!

    Before you decide, you might want to see this article about SELF Magazine:
    They don't promote a healthy self-image, IMO. Congratulations on almost hitting a milestone though - that is awesome!

    I actually just picked up Self a few weeks ago. I love it!! I subscribed! My first health magazine. I loved all the exercise ideas that they give you! The motivating stories..I can't wait to get my first one in the mail. :O) Hope this helps.
