I have read the book twice already and will probably go back and read it again soon. I am definitely doing the 28-Day program! I am really excited about it!

I enjoy using the website and it's really taken some time to learn my way around so now that I've got the website down and I do love it, I've been hesitant to start with the book. I'm going to take the leap now though because the makeover would be so wonderful and just the right reward for sticking with the new lifestyle. Also it would be great I think to have the book for the times when I'm traveling and can't get on-line. so sign me up emoticon

I too am having a hard time getting into the book. I've read all the sections but stopped short of the 28-day plan because I picked up another book to read for pleasure (not a diet book). However, I think February is the PERFECT month to do the 28-day plan--duh! emoticon and I'm definitely going to give it a go!

It is taking forever to get into your book. I am slowly making it through it, but it isn't as interesting as the web-site. Too much about the author's life, but I guess that must motivate some people. I may have to skip over to the diet portion. I was a little let-down by the book, but your web-site and contributors to this site are spectacular!

Well, I understand it costs money to run the website (which runs very, very well) and pay the staff.

However, I'm on unemployment and broke so I'll have to pass on this one.

I benefit from an external structured program for a number of things. This Plan will be right up my alley and I'm looking forward to the results. And wouldn't it be kewl to win a day at a salon as a reward? emoticon

I prefer to work at my own pace, so this contest does not really work for me. But best wishes to those who will get motivated by it.

Spark has changed A lot since I joined! LOL! Dont think I need the book, but the challenge sounds GREAT! I lost and have kept off the weight using Spark- Good luck to ALL! I must agree, I joined Spark because it was low key and one could network by choice. I am happy to see Spark in the news and with products, but yes, Marketing OVER KIll. But Ive been around the block a few times- what do I know! Glad to see Spar growing- Go Spark, make that money!

I just ordered the book as I'd really like to do the contest. Just hope it gets here by the first. It'll be close. Then it wouldn't be right to be disqualified as I ordered prior to the first. Guess I'll see.

Hi! I'm trying to read the book, but I don't want to zoom through it. So, I'm trying to read just one chapter per day. So far, so good. At this pace, I can really read and appreciate it. I'm loving it.

Using February the shortest month for a program is a great idea! This is something that will help keep me going the other months. I am reading chapter 7 now and finally have set goals. It is also wonderful to have so many articles and blogs. When I feel like I need a snack I go to the computer and read a while. If I stay reading for 15 to 20 minutes I don't feel hungry. I am a stress eater and so I sit and read articles etc. to slow down. Thanks to all of the Sparkpeople that help us with so much information.

I love this site & have been sparking for 2 years, but I am definitely turned off by having to buy this book in order to enter this contest. I understand the heavy marketing on every page of the website to buy the book, but this contest is overkill.

I agree with Junia. It turns me off a little to feel like I have to buy something. Otherwise, I like the site and the whole program. When I recommend it, though, I have to warn people, there is a little bit of sales pressure.

I can understand that the Spark is a great book and I would have preordered and ordered it if it were not for the neverending hassle to get internet ordered stuff to our passive part of Europe. I can understand marketing, but I am sadened by linking up the February challenge to a thing that is impossible for me. Ok. there's enough other challenges on SP. But still, I'm sad that it has become such a huge deal if you get a book or not.

Just ordered my copy on Jan 20th!! Can't wait to get started-prizes are nice, but we are ALL winners as friends who support and encourage each other! Thank you to all those who have personally reached out to me as I learn my way around this site. My only criticism is that the site should be called "Spark Friends"-because that is what you all are emoticon
